During 2020, travel companies were faced with a unique challenge they’d never had to tackle before. A global pandemic wiped out any chance of international and local travel for more than a year and the travel industry lost over £1 billion.

We always knew travel would bounce back, it was just a matter of time and making sure Parkdean Resorts kept centre stage of people’s minds so that when restrictions were lifted, they’d be the port of call for trips.

Knowing that the media were craving positive and playful stories, we created the world’s first hedgehog holiday park. The park was designed to mirror Parkdean Resorts’ iconic caravans while providing a safe place for hedgehogs to bed down for winter.

We created the holiday home village from scratch, brought in a hedegehog model to shoot native photographs and video, and then placed the caravans at key Parkdean locations around the UK.

The campaign went viral with features in Mashable, Heart, Lonely Planet and The Mirror, even picking up links in U.S. and Australian media. The video also saw more than 21,000 views on YouTube.
